Large capacity system reduces sediment to help provide cleaner, clearer better tasting water by filtering out sediment and other contaminants from the water used throughout your entire home.
The 3M™ Aqua-Pure™ ™ Water Filter System is a whole-house water-filtration solution for larger homes and commercial units. It helps reduce particulate, rust, and the taste and odor of chlorine from cloudy, colored, or musty water. This simple canister filter system uses standard-size filtration cartridges. A built-in pressure relief button makes cartridge changes simple. By helping improve the clarity, taste and odor of tap water, it provides an economical alternative to bottled drinking water. The simple-to-install system handles a heavy load, providing a flow rate of up to 45 gallons (170.3 liters) per minute. The system is covered by a 10-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects. Manufactured by 3M Purification Inc., formerly CUNO Incorporated, The 3M™ Aqua-Pure™ ® AP802 Water Filter System is installed at the point-of-entry. The single canister unit is installed with 1-inch NPT inlet and outlet connections. All parts are manufactured from FDA CFR-21 compliant materials. The system provides a flow rate of up to 45 gallons (170.3 liters) per minute and has an operating pressure range of 25-100 psi (172-690 kPa) and operating temperature range of 40-100°F (4.4-37.8°C). It comes with a mounting bracket and wrench. A pressure relief button is incorporated into the system for ease in cartridge replacement. 3M recommends regularly scheduled maintenance. Cartridges must be replaced every six months, or sooner if there is a noticeable reduction in flow rate. If water is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality adequate disinfection should be used before or after the water filtration system. Whole-house water treatment systems are sometimes referred to as point-of-entry (POE) systems, and are installed immediately downstream from the water meter or well pump. A whole-house filter that reduces iron, particulate, and chlorine odor and taste will typically treat all water entering a residence, protecting plumbing and fixtures while reducing unpleasant tastes, colors and odors. A water softener system will often be bypassed by a cold drinking water line that provides salt-free drinking water. Regular maintenance of a whole-house water filter system may be as simple as replacing a filtration cartridge every six months, or may require a service call. The initial expense of a whole-house water filter system often pays off in the long term, as it may protect pipes and fixtures from iron and/or hard water deposits and discoloration and provide savings in bottled water costs.
